SafeNet smart cards and SafeNet iKey™ USB tokens are secure authentication devices that can hold users credentials, such as passwords, keys, certificates, or biometrics in a highly secure fashion. The devices have an open, flexible operating system that can enable other capabilities such as storing personal information or providing physical access credentials securely to the device. The cards/tokens can be used in both PKI and non-PKI environments. Whether smart card or USB token, both form factors have identical capabilities and organizations can mix and match card/token types as requirements dictate.
SafeNet Product
1. SafeNet iKey USB Tokens
SafeNet's USB authentication tokens are designed to deliver best-in-class security, interoperability, convenience and performance. Built with the most advanced technology, the SafeNet iKeys support PKCS #11 and MS-CAPI interfaces, allowing for seamless integration and interoperability with identity and access management applications. Ease of use and compact form factor
Three-factor authentication capability
Strong PKI technology and security, carrying FIPS and CC validations
Secure key generation and storage in hardware
Enhanced crypto co-processor for improved performance and speed
Robust hardware and software protection against differential power and timing attacks
Borderless Security PKI (BSec PKI) is the middleware for USB tokens and smart cards from SafeNet. The BSec middleware allows organizations to easily use smart cards and USB tokens for implementing two factor authentication to a wide variety of desktop, enterprise network and productivity applications. The BSec enables storage, management and usage of PKI credentials (digital certificates and private-public keys) and non PKI credentials (usernames and passwords) on a smart card or USB token for secure authentication to most critical enterprise assets such as those accessed via desktop applications, network login, remote access, web login, e-mail and electronic transactions.
Through an easy to use GUI, BSec PKI allows centralized configuration of client policies and creation of different end user clients for effective use of tokens and smart cards by enterprise users. For easy mass deployment of BSec clients, it is supported through Microsoft Group Policy Object (GPO) on different Windows OS platforms. The BSec also enables token and smart card usage on other platforms such as MAC OS and Linux.
For integration with applications, the BSec PKI includes a comprehensive API SDK supporting PKCS#11 and MS CAPI interfaces. Applications integrated with BSec can securely enable enterprises to open up their networks for collaboration and data sharing relying on SafeNet tokens and smart cards for strong two factor authentication and cryptographic functions such as digital signing and encryption.
